Sikhs urged to support saffron head wear on Vaisakhi Celebrations.
Sikh Nation Organization appeals all Sikhs to wear 'saffron' head wear on Vaisakhi, and during all nagar kirtans and congregations to celebrate Birth Day of Khalsa, to express solidarity with French Sikhs struggling against ban on wearing of turban and religious symbol in France.French Parliament was going to review the French Law on religious symbols during its current session, which was under progress. Wearing of a particular colour on a specific day through the world will effectively build up a global campaign against Turban ban in France.
Besides Vaisakhi, supporting of saffron head wear on Thursdays and Gurupurabs was part of a global campaign to focus distinct Sikh identity vis a vis turbaned Muslims to check hate crimes due to mistaken identity and to make the world aware that the Sikh Turban was inseparable part of religious and cultural identity of Sikhs.

Memorandum for restoration of Human Rights to tender aged school going children in France, in view of using of coersion, by imposing 'Scarf Ban Law', to force unreasonable restrictions on their Right of Personal liberty, to abondon signs and dress of their Faiths, to qualify to study in the Public Schools of France.
Hon'ble Sir,
Most respectfully, acting in good faith, Sikh Nation Organization, after holding a protest demonstration on the issue at Delhi on Saturday, 5th Feb. has decided to submit this memorandum to prick the conscience of the great French Nation, which once upon a time pioneered world movement on human rights. SNO is deeply pained to observe that, its petition under 1503 Procedure, admitted by UN Human Rights Commission failed to make little effect on a Government of a world power and permanent member of the UN Security Council, who from all available indications seems determined to abuse the spirit of French Constitution as well as UN Declarations on, Human Rights, Elimination of All Forms of Intolerance and of Discrimination Based on Religion and Belief, and Elimination of Discrimination against Women, and Children. [High Commissioner for Human Rights, United Nations has acknowleged vide its letter G/SO 215/1 FRAN 2832 dated 30 April 2004, that a petition against Human Right violations by France, datd 17 March, submitted under1503 Procedure, by Sikh Nation Organization, has been examined and admitted. A copy of the same has been sent to Government of France for comments, and a summary of it submitted to the Working Group on Communications and the Commission on Human Rights for consideration.]
Your goodself will appreciate the spirit of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, "A Magna Carta for all Humanity", that ;The Declaration recognizes that the "inherent dignity of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world" and is linked to the recognition of fundamental rights towards which every human being aspires..
" It's embarrasing for Sikh's to get photographed without turbans, even Granthis and Ragis settled in France have identity cards which have their pictures without the turban."

Amritsar, April 6 While demonstrating in front of the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committe (SGPC) complex, the Sikh Nation Organization sought the intervention of the United Nations (UN) on the turban issue in France. The organization gave a global call to Sikhs to wear Golden Yellow color (Khalsa i Dastar) on Vaisakhi and every thursdays to lodge a protest against the ban on the turban by the French Government and hate crimes against Sikhs due to mistaken identity.By supporting turban of a particular colour on a particular day, Sikhs would be able to lodge an effective and organized protest against the ban. Golden Yellow colour has been chosen becuase it was traditionally adopted by Khalsa and not worn by Muslims.
